Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathy finds its routes in many centuries old treatments.  It is a combined form of holistic, complementary, and integrative treatments.  Its goal is to treat the entire person, body, mind and spirit.  To that end, it aims to heal the root cause of an individual's illness, not just his or her symptoms.  The use of natural modalities is always emphasized.  Education and empowerment are as much a part of treatment as prevention is here.  'Illness' is understood within the context of an individual's entire life.

Naturopathic Medicine is, in fact, an evidence-based system of wellness imparting treatments with natural elements based on the theories of energy, vitality, nutrition, toxicity and the self-healing capacity of the body, as well as the principles of healthy living and empirical methodology.  It can, and is often, used in conjunction with conventional medical treatments to support the body's healing processes.
